Wool & Cashmere Care Guide

Intro
Wool and cashmere are soft, naturally insulating fibres that last for years with the right care. Always follow the garment label first.

Quick Rules
  • Tailored coats (including double-faced): dry clean only.
  • Knitwear (sweaters, scarves): hand wash cold or dry clean.
  • Avoid tumble dryers, bleach, and high heat.
Tailored Wool Coats (including Double-Faced)
  • Cleaning: Professional dry clean only; limit to 1–2 times per season.
  • Spot care: Blot spills immediately; never rub. Use a clean, damp cloth for light surface marks.
  • Pressing: Cool iron (max 110°C) with a pressing cloth; avoid direct steam.
  • Brushing: Use a soft clothes brush to lift surface dust and keep the nap smooth.
  • Storage: Hang on a wide, shaped hanger; use a breathable garment bag. Keep away from direct heat/sunlight.

Hand Wash

  1. Fill a basin with cold water and a wool-friendly detergent.
  2. Gently submerge and move the garment—do not wring or twist.
  3. Rinse in fresh water until clear. Press water out in a towel.

Drying

  • Lay flat on a towel, reshape carefully.
  • Keep away from radiators, direct sun, and tumble dryers.

Between Wears & Maintenance

  • Rest flat for a few hours to refresh fibres.
  • Remove light pilling with a cashmere comb or fabric shaver.
Storing & Moth Care
  • Fold knitwear; do not hang.
  • Use breathable cotton/linen bags.
  • Add cedar blocks or lavender; replace regularly.
Stain Care
  • Blot, don’t rub. For oil/ink or set stains, consult a trusted cleaner experienced with wool/cashmere.

With mindful care, your pieces stay soft and elegant.
